Our puppies
All our puppy parents are AKC registered, and we have the parents here all the time. All our puppies are whelped in our garage that is attached to our home, (We are with them around the clock, we have monitors on each of them keeping an eye on them and knowing when to help), and are interacting within our family regularly. The puppies are then moved to my new building, “kinder care,” which gives them more room, and also gets them starting to going outside. They all have great personalities and are very social. We guarantee our puppies healthy (in writing), and they will have their first shots and worming. They are paper trained, and have started using a doggie door by the time they go home, which is not before eight weeks. We welcome visits by appointments. The earliest we will show our puppies is 6 to 7 weeks old (this is the best time for puppies and mommas). We will keep you updated with pictures of the puppies. Each week is a new adventure and they change a lot. The first to second week they will double in size. At the end of second week, their eyes usually open and they are still growing. They start moving around during the third to fourth week. We start seeing their individual personalities when they are five to six weeks old. We will try to keep you updated if possible.
Our puppies sell for $ 1500 (AKC limited registration) I do not offer full registration – you will need full registration to register the offspring of your new puppy, if you plan on using him/her for breeding, and/or showing in conformation. We recommend you getting you puppy neutered or spayed as soon as possible if you are looking at adding an addition to your family. I am very particular with our line. We have been building our distinguished reputation for over 50 years. That is why i do no longer offer full registration. Shipping is in addition to above prices (see shipping page).
Our puppies can go to their new homes at 8 weeks old. I have been asked a number of times which is better for a family member, male or female? From my experience and from what families have told me; a male (if you get him neutered early, I suggest at four to six months) is more compassionate and loving, and females are a little more independent. I am not trying to sway anyone either direction; I have had both and love them all, and everyone has their own personal preference. If you are not getting him neutered at four to six months, I recommend a female. Either way they are just amazing family members!
When you pick up your puppy you will be receiving a folder with information, including your purchase contract, pedigree, health certification, AKC application, and additional information for you to read. We will help you and make suggestions for training your puppy. I will also give you some of the food they are on, as well as show you how to groom them.
They are on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food. You will get a sample of this food included with your purchase. Keep your puppy on this for at least three days, and then slowly switch them over to whatever you decided to get by putting some of the new food with the old food. I recommend that you stay with a name brand puppy food like Purina-Pro Plan-Puppy Chow- Lamb and Rice; Eukanuba –Iams- puppy choit small breeds; or Science Diet (Puppy Food); They have had NO treats, so when you give them a treat make sure you give them a very small amount at a time. I recommend giving nothing more than the size of the end of your finger as a treat. Some people like to purchase a different type of puppy chow and use it as a treat. I have also had many people use cheerios as treats.
Recommendation for feeding your puppy: I recommend you keep your puppy on "full feed", which means he should not be limited on the amount he eats. He should get as much as he wants of the dry puppy chow.
Puppy food (DRIED) for 1-2 years. I recommend DRIED forever.
